Volumes #6 – #11
This volume started off extremely well. I thoroughly enjoyed the feature from Wolverine and had high hopes for the rest of the volume; unfortunately although it started off as a 5 star rated comic series it soon dropped off. With Wolverine in the picture Kamala came across as someone really interesting and seemed to want to learn instead of making the same mistakes over and over. Whereas she didn’t exactly make the same mistakes I felt as though she didn’t grow after that either. I was hoping for her to start to investigate herself and her powers, and learn how to be a hero. Maybe she did and I didn’t pick up on it, I’m not sure.
This volume tied up the story arc that’s been throughout the last eleven comics, the inventor and left no hint of what was to come next. It’s possible that the next storyline will give Kamala more growth so I’m looking forward to seeing that. It wasn’t a bad volume, I’ve definitely read worse; but after reading the first three it took me a long time to come back and read the next two. Kamala was an inspiring teenager in the last two but I didn’t really know why; I felt it was more because the people inspired by her had been saved by her rather than anything else. Still, I feel it’s still early days and the comic series hopefully will go down the path it laid out during the Wolverine feature.
